Learning outcomes

The student is able to:
- make a project plan including time schedule, responsibilities and target setting
- learn customer communication
- search for professional literature to support the project
- report on the project results and analyse them
- make seminar presentation to customer

Contents

Course content:
• Research and Development (R&D) project
• Subjects mainly for industrial companies
• Subjects mainly related to Wood-based panels industry
• Working typically in groups of 2-4 persons
• Project plan creation
• Including project time schedule
• Project management
• Development work implementation
• Development work report
• evaluation of results and conclusions
• Seminar presentation

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

Basic knowledge of wood technology and the forest industry is useful but not essential

Assessment criteria

Project plan (groupwise evaluation) PASSED / TO BE COMPLETED
• company evaluation (groupwise evaluation) 25%
• project report (groupwise evaluation) 50%
• project seminar presentation (groupwise evaluation) 25%
• group cross evaluation (individual evaluation), can effect +/- 1..2 grades
• course evaluation grades 1-5
