Learning outcomes

The students will
- understand slow and clear speech related to course topics
- are able to communicate orally and in writing in simple everyday situations, such as introductions, telling about oneself and reacting e.g. in dining situations
- are able to use the most frequent basic structures

Implementation and methods of teaching

Classes in Zoom, independent study and learning assignments.
Oral exercises in pairs and teams, exercises on pronunciation, texts, listening, vocabulary and grammar.

Timing and attendance

Online classes in weeks 2 to 8, twice a week. Schedule in TimeEdit.
Written exam in the electronic system in weeks 9 to 11.
Oral exam in week 8.

The course can be completed independently. In addition to the written exam and approved learning assignments, a mandatory oral exam.

Contents

The students will learn to introduce themselves, to tell some basic things about occupation, hobbies and towns as well to use some basic phrases in situations related to dining and grocery shopping and telling the way.

The students will learn to use the following grammatical structures: verb conjugation in present tense, personal pronouns, numbers, use of articles, accusative and word order in the main clause.

Assessment criteria

The evaluation consists of three parts:
- written exam: 0 to 5
- oral exam or grade based on continous assessment*: pass / fail (*precondition for continous assessment: active participation in 75 percent of the classes)
- approved assignments
The final grade for the course will be 0 to 5.
