Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- identify aspects related to global corporate communication
- understand the communication process in purchasing and sales
- communicate both orally and in writing in different kinds of communication situations
- conduct meetings and negotiations in a global business environment

Online lessons. Group assignment: Global business communication case: report with documentation: grading 1-5
Individual information retrieval- and reflective written assignment on global communication in business: grading 1-5

Contents

Oral and written professional and business communication. Team discussions to practice negotiation skills. Readings about global business and global business communication. Homework and assignments based on the readings.

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

Strong English skills recommended. The course is taught at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This is equal to scoring 6 or 6.5 in the IELTS test or having been graded M or higher in English in the Finnish matriculation examination.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

The student has excellent oral and written skills in professional and business communication in English and can diversely apply the acquired terminology and processes in demanding professional communicative situations.
