The student is able to
- survey the impacts of the EU on reduction of carbon emissions in the future and analyze their consequences
- describe current and future opportunities for climate change mitigation in urban settings
- search for information and scientific research results concerning climate change topics
- develop applications of mitigation in urban settings

Toteutustapa ja opetusmenetelmät

Contact days 22.1.,11.2. and 25.2.2022. Before the intensive period students prepare a pre-course assignment, during the intensive week presentations concerning the topic are presented and commented, after the course students provide an individual assignment

- find information/resources and justify the choices, uses and usefulness of the information
- apply the concepts of the climate change in a consistent manner and understand wider

- evaluate professional and organisation-level processes dealing with climate change mitigation and adaptation
- communicate verbally and orally with national and international expert and non-expert audiences
- act in the chosen field with a strategic approach
- work with awareness of value
- lead different types of processes to adapt and mitigate climate change

Student is able to

- critically appraise theoretical knowledge/resources of the chosen field
- act and communicate in multidisciplinary regional and national development networks
- search for and analyse the basic premises of a climate change adaptation and mitigation
- act in leadership roles in an organisation/development project dealing with climate change
- assume responsibility for a community's goal-oriented learning with a strategic approach to climate change

Student is able to

- use domestic and international resources in climate change adaptation and mitigation in a critical and innovative manner
- evaluate the outcomes and impacts of development activities in climate change adaptation and mitigation

- evaluate and develop activities and strategies in the field
