Learning outcomes

The purpose is to give students an overview on business development within networks and clusters. The phenomenon is studied through theoretical and empirical perspectives. Student will understand the importance of networking in business development.

Implementation and methods of teaching

Lectures and seminars according to time-table. Written exam
Students will also prepare assignment.

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

Prerequisite: Global Business Strategies or similar knowledge.
This course is not for the first year IB/ LITA students. Not for the exchange students in case they have studied similar topics already.

Assessment criteria

Individual written exam will be graded 0-5
Group assignment will be graded 0-5
Final grade for the course will be based on grades of an assignment and exam.
Student needs to get minimum grade 1 in order to pass the course.

Failing to reach the level of 1 according to the evaluation criteria.

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)

Student has basic knowledge of networking in business.

Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)

Student has good knowledge about networking in business and understands how this affects companies' business development.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

Student has excellent knowledge and understanding of strategic meaning of networking and clusters and is able to utilise this knowledge in business development.
