Learning outcomes

After this course, student

-can apply previously acquired knowledge in meeting clients of different ages and choosing nursing methods
- masters the essential respiratory and circulatory functions and their support by various nursing methods
- master the essential nursing methods for various diseases
- can work as part of a multi-professional team
- can combine and extract the main points from theory and apply them in practice
- Is able to use and manage the most important nursing equipment safely
- have independent study skills and use them in a wide range of learning

Implementation and methods of teaching

Lectures, practical sessions, simulations, assignments, exam

Doing assignments according to schedule is prerequisite for continuing in the course. The collected study material will be shared to the whole group and it is stored in Moodle platform.

The student must come to practical sessions and simulations well prepared according to given instructions.
In order to pass the course the student must be 100% present in practical sessions and pass the exam and do all the assignments.

Objectives:
The student gains deeper knowledge about assessing care needs and can implement it to different patient and client groups in different surroundings

Content: Care assessment in different patient situations: simulations, practical sessions, assignments and exam

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

Acute nursing care, Pharmacological therapy

Can choose some nursing interventions based on care assessment

The student understands and can explain the need of care based on evidence based practice.
Can choose suitable nursing interventions based on care assessment.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

Can implement care assessment in care situation based on evidence based practice
Is able to choose suitable nursing interventions based on care assessment.
