Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- explain the organization of the social and health service system and describe the client's position in the social and health service system
- describe the values and ethical principles in their field as well as the key regulations governing operations
- describe the principles of evidence-based information and action
- identify factors of well-being and functioning at an individual and community level
Implementation and methods of teaching
The course takes place entirely online, a total of 5 credits. (1 credit means 27 h student´s work) It is a completely self-paced online course that directly assesses the returned assignments.

The course is implemented in Moodle. The course is an opportunity to complete the above-mentioned period at your own pace.
Learning material and recommended literature
Laaksonen H., Laitinen H. and Hiilamo H. (eds) 2020: Social and healthcare system, as applicable. Other study material is announced in the course.
Exam retakes
The course is open on August 29. - 27 November 2022.
Renewals in accordance with the degree regulations are possible on either platform during the period in question or with the next implementation.

Student time use and work load
5 credits, i.e. 135 hours of online/distance learning. The course has 4 sections, each of which has its own sub-exams. You can progress one section at a time, when the student has passed the sub-exam. After all the sections, an exam opens based on the content of the entire course, which must be successfully completed in order to complete the course.
The course requires the student to work independently: getting to know the materials in order to complete the tasks.
