Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- design interactive publications
- produce electronic publications using multiple methods
- test a publication's usability on different platforms and devices
- describe the differences between various publishing methods, platforms and use-cases.

Lectures, tasks, presentations and discussions.
Timing and attendance
The schedule is in the course's Moodle environment. Obligatory presence on the first day, lectures and presentations. There is no need for additional tasks when absent but assignments have to be done within the given time.

Presented evidence of experience and learned skills e.g. in work life.

Tasks 65 %, lectures 10 %, literature ja learning tasks 10 %, presentations and discussions 15 %.
Contents
Analysis of electronic books, interactivity and their technical implementation, presentation of publishing methods, software and equipment used to create electronic publications, and publishing channels. The main task is interactive epub from given material. There is a possibility to use an iPad tablet computer during the course.
Assessment criteria
Tasks 80 %, presentations and discussions 20 %.

A1 Is able to consistently use the professional terminology of electronic publishing and argue actions using industry methods.
B1 Is able to apply diversely learnt methods and processes.
C3 Is able to act user-orientated.
Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)
A1 Is able to use broad-based the professional terminology of electronic publishing and communicate taking in consideration different production methods.
B1 Is able to choose suitable methods and processes for actions and argue the decisions.
C3 Is able to take appropriately in consideration the needs of the publication and the user.
Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)
A1 Is able to expertly use the professional terminology and methods of electronic publishing and based on those build functional electronic publications.
B1 Is able to choose, combine and develop suitable methods and processes for actions
C3 Is able to take responsibility of the whole production process.
