Implementation and methods of teaching

On completion of the course, students will understand the key concepts of strategic management and their importance for the performance of a company or organization. They will be able to describe the different stages of the strategy process and apply these stages to a simplified business model. They will be able to describe the role of strategic management as a factor in organizational productivity and efficiency and to assess the effectiveness of different ways of implementing strategy. At the end of the course, students will be able to participate in the strategy work of their organization.

Learning material and recommended literature

The Moodle material and the business simulation tutorial and other material to be distributed during the course to support the understanding of the course as a whole.

Learning environment

Lectures, simulation rounds, independent teamwork.

Assessment criteria

Course assignments will be assessed and participation in the simulation rounds, as well as completion of a group business simulation, production of the required reports through individual and team work and participating in the initial orientation and final seminar presentation.

Assessment scale

1-5

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)

Participation in the compulsory parts of the course and satisfactory completion of the assignments given. Active participation in team decision-making.

Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)

In addition to the approved assessment, the learning diary, the team management team's memo and the presentation at the final seminar provide a good illustration of the company's development, the team's work and the learning achieved.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

In addition to grade 3, at least a fair performance in the business simulation, the learning diary and the final seminar analyses are written in a comprehensive and well-argued manner.
