Learning outcomes
To get acquainted in different kinds of professional and scientific information sources mainly from electronic databases. To learn to read and write critically professional text. To help to utilize electronic databases in final thesis process.
Implementation and methods of teaching
Independent e-learning. This course will be carried out entirely on Moodle, no contact lessons. All the instructions can be found on Moodle. In case of any problems, please contact pekka.mytty@lab.fi
Timing and attendance
The course is going on as a non-stop course. You can start the course anytime during the Autumn term 2022 and finish it according to your own timetable. Moodle enrollments can be done until 30.11.2022 and the last due date to return assignment is 31.12.2022.

This course is 100 % e-learning.The best time to take the course is during the second or third year studies before starting the final theses.

Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)
3: The student has a relatively good understanding of the use of information sources of professional and scientific nature. The student is independently capable of critically reading and writing professional text.
Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)
5: The student has an excellent understanding of the use of information sources of professional and scientific nature. The student is able to independently and professionally analyse demanding articles and academic reports from various information sources.
