Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- critically analyse and evaluate information in relation to corporate responsibility and sustainable development
- implement ethical, social and environmental aspects into the corporate strategic decision-making and into practice
- resolve complex social and environmental business matters

Implementation and methods of teaching

The study unit contains ca 7 online lectures and teaching discussions. The course is based on team work, e-learning, independent studying, and student presentations.

Timing and attendance

Active participation in online lectures and discussions, team meetings and project work is needed.

Learning material and recommended literature

All materials will be given by the teacher in electric form via the learning platform moodle, and collected, analyzed, or produced, by students themselves.

Working life cooperation

The course will either include a real life company/organization project or be a part of a bigger ongoing R&D project in LAB.

Learning environment is a combination of online lessons, team learning and project work.

Contents

The student
- is able to critically analyze and evaluate information in relation to corporate responsibility and sustainable development
- is able to implement ethical, social and environmental aspects into the company strategic decision-making and into practice
- is able to resolve complex social and environmental business matters
- is able to professionally communicate CSR issues to the public

Assessment criteria

Evaluation consists of self evaluation, peer evaluation and evaluation of the teacher. The project will also be evaluated by the comissioner(s).

- participates in discussions on given topics
- is able to deliver the given assignments on time

- shows ability to evaluate ethical and environmental performance of companies and organisations
- discusses the given topics and gives independent and critical arguments
- gives concrete recommendations for companies to improve their environmental performance
