Implementation and methods of teaching

Before the beginning of the course the student must pass J. Hyneman Center course in Moodle.

The Art and Technology course will help to give students an expanded range of tools and working methodologies that will allow them to develop new ways of approaching their artistic practice. The course will introduce students to a range of technologies, such as 3D modeling and printing, laser-cutting. During the course students also observe new or becoming technologies for making art, and to observe their possibilities.

Timing and attendance

The course takes place on Tuesdays 10-17 and from Wednesday to Friday 9-16. Teacher is present mainly from Tuesday to Thursday, and Fridays are independent studying or group project. Visiting lectures will be informed later.

Student time use and work load

Daily attendance is required, as well as completion of projects.

Required to pass J. Hyneman Center Moodle course.

Assessment criteria

Attendance to all lectures is primary. 80% presence required to pass the course.

• Is able to implement works of art in a guided and independent way based on his / her ideas and develops his / her work based on the feedback he / she receives
• Can independently identify and compare the methods of making art
• Can evaluate and justify competence and set artistic, content and technical development goals
• Can follow and describe a professional discussion in his / her field

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

• Is able to apply and develop different alternatives to his / her artistic work process
• Is able to use what he / she has learned systematically and creatively when implementing works and to apply the feedback he / she receives
• Can apply the methods he uses and analyze works
• Is able to evaluate, develop and expand artistic, content and technical competence
• Can participate in a professional discussion in his / her field
