Learning outcomes

For 1.-2. year students learning outcomes for early study phase are applied, and for 3.-4. year students learning outcomes for the graduation phase.

Early-skill stage/learning outcomes:
The student is able to:
- use the concepts related to the topics and themes of the assignments
- discribe the rationale, needs and criteria for the assignments
- work on assignments in accordance with the administration
- apply professional methods and working practices related to the assignments
- operate in a safe, ethical and customer-oriented way

Graduation competence/learning outcomes:
The student is able to:
- use the concepts related to the assingments in a coherent way and justify their actions on the basis of the knowledge base
- find starting points, needs and criteria for an assignment
- to act purposefully, to assess activities in process and make suggestions for improvement
- apply a variety of different techniques, methods and ways of working to the assignments
- act in a responsible and goal-oriented way in the project group and in different situations and events related to the assignments.

Implementation and methods of teaching

Teaching is integrated into design projects carried out in cooperation with companies. The projects are done in a learning environment that simulates a design office, where students work in small groups under the guidance of the teachers responsible for the activities.

Timing and attendance

Attendance is mandatory on the contact days indicated in the timetable. At the beginning of the study period, the implementation of the projects is planned so that joint teamwork and contacting companies are allocated to common contact days.

Working life cooperation

All projects are done in cooperation with companies.

Learning environment

The course is mainly implemented in a special simulation environment, but if necessary, other facilities of the university are also used, for example model building workshops.

Assessment criteria

The evaluation is based on the realization of the following competence goals
