    Implementation and methods of teaching

    The World of Events courses will give you a broad insight into the planning and implementation of events: -you get to know the basics of event production through fairs and live events -you will learn the basics of licensing processes, pre-event preparations, event implementation and the execution of the event itself -you will deepen your understanding and knowledge of how to produce events The course consists of a knowledge-based part in the classroom and an event management part. The theoretical part will cover the event licensing processes, the different forms of events, experiential aspects and the different stages of planning and implementation. During the course, the student will be working in a event. Events can be cultural, sporting, sports, trade fairs or corporate events. The world of events is the first part of the "tapahtumaväylä". The course is taught face-to-face. After the World of Events course, you can continue your event studies towards Event Manager.

    Assessment methods and criteria

    Assessment based on student learning a) knowledge and information retrieval b) practical skills and c) responsibility and teamwork/leadership skills. Assessment is based on: 70% event 30% attendance of the theoretical part and assignments Lecturer, self- and peer-assessment will be used during the course.

    Alternative completion methods

    No alternative methods of implementation. The student can arrange with the supervisor if he/she wants to carry out the event in another event project.

    Timing and attendance

    The theoretical part of the course is taught face-to-face. Attendance is required to participate in the events.

    Learning environment

    Face-to-face classes are held once a week on the M19 campus. Event project guidance can be provided online if necessary, but the event requires you to be present at the event.

    Students use of time and workload

    Lectures are held once a week (4h) and students are always given an assignment on the topic of the day. During the course there will be an event that requires the student's presence.
