Learning outcomes

Student is able to
- describe the principles of integrated enterprise resource planning system (ERP)
- use SAP S / 4 HANA - ERP system to manage company's order-delivery process and internal accounting as well as human resource management

Implementation and methods of teaching

During the remote sessions students practice SAP S/4HANA ERP system independently by using Global Bike Inc exercises and case studies.

Timing and attendance

Pls NOTE: Course is now combined to the online course AL00CJ09-3004 Toiminnanohjausjärjestelmä SAP S/4 HANA 5 op and implemented both in English and Finnish. Course includes 7 remote sessions according to the timetable (check TimeEdit). Attendance at sessions is highly recommended. Preassignments on week 10 and remote sessions on week 11- week 18.

Alternative completion methods

If you have previous experience on using SAP S/4HANA ERP System you can also perform tasks independently by agreeing with the supervisors

Learning environment

During the remote sessions students practise SAP S/4HANA ERP system independently by using Global Bike Inc learning environment.

Student time use and work load

Contact sesssions 25% , independent work 75%.


The module focuses on explaining the principles of an integrated SAP S/4 HANA ERP system through detailed exercises and case studies (SD Sales and Distribution, MM Material Management, FI Financing, CO Controlling and HCM Human Resource Management) by using SAP ERP system. The module fosters a thorough understanding of each process and underlying SAP ERP functionality. Through practical exercises, the student becomes aware of and is able to use an integrated SAP S/4 HANA ERP System. Through different roles taken in the case studies (e.g. sales agent, warehouse worker, accounting clerk) the processes will foster understanding of the entire management processes in the company.

Student understands the basic principles of ERP and is able to use SAP S/4 Hana
