Diversity Comptence in Health Care and Social Services ( 5 ECTS) ONLINE
For whom?
This optional study unit will be offered online for the degree programme and exchange students of social and health care as well as for the open university students.

After the completion of the study unit the student
- explains the concept of diversity and knows diversity competence models

Content
- concepts of diversity and diversity competence models
- power and ethical conduct in practitioner and service user encounters
- diversity approach in professional practice.
The study unit will be implemented in moodle and Teams learning environments, where the student
- familiarizes oneself with the course material,
- applies one's knowledge to the given assignments and apploads them to the moodle page,
- participates the scheduled contact sessions in Teams,
- gets teacher evaluatiion and gives students evaluation to the moodle.
Timing and attendance
The study unit will be implemented from August 17 to September 18 autum term 2020.
Participation in the scheduled contact sessions in Teams as the following:
Mon 17.8.20 at 9.00-10.30
Tues 25.8.20 at 9.00-10.30
Mon 31.8.20 at 9.00-10.30
Mon 7.9.20 at 9.00-10.30
Mon 14.9.20 at 9.00-10.30
The Teams session address will be published and sent to the enrolled students August 13.
