Implementation and methods of teaching
Winter School intensive week consists of a preparatory work that will be done in national teams before the actual intensive week in Lahti Finland, as well as some lectures, company visits and a week project that will be done in international multidisciplinary groups. The preparatory work is given by local companies and students´ results will be shared during the company visits in Lahti.
Out of 50 students 40 participants come from different European universities, 10 places are reserved for LAB students.
Timing and attendance
Winter school intensive week will be arranged 9.-14.2.
Before the intensive week, one virtual session of 2-3 hours will be arranged. Time of the virtual session will be announced separately to the participants.
Winter school requires active participation to all elements of the course.
Alternative completion methods
The course 5 ects consists of:
-Virtual session in January.
-Preparatory work
-Intensive week in February including a week project
-Report based on given instructions
Working life cooperation
Company projects and visits.
Learning environment
Winter School is a combination of a virtual meeting to get started, group work for the preliminary work in national groups, company visits, lectures and group work in international multidisciplinary groups during the intensive week.
Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.
Participants consist about 50 students from ten countries/universities.
For LAB business and technology students all together ten places are reserved. Forty places are reserved for foreign students arriving just for the winter school or for exchange students studying in LAB.
