Implementation and methods of teaching
Teaching languages: German, English and Finnish
Classes on Zoom 2 times per week in weeks 2 to 8. In classes, there will be oral exercises. The students prepare for classes by doing independent listening, text, vocabulary and pronunciation exercises. Pair and group work.
Timing and attendance
Classes 2 to 3 times per week, schedule in TimeEdit. Classes in weeks 2 to 8.
Active participation in at least 80 per cent of the classes is required, as the course is designed to practise oral communication. The course cannot be completed independently.

3 credits corresponds to approximately 80 hours of study.
Classes approx. 28 hours, teamwork approx 8 hours, and independent study, including homework and learning assignments approx. 44 hours.
Contents
An easy German conversation course focusing on oral language skills. The following topics will be covered: small talk, telling about the home country, business travel arrangements, phone transactions and parties as well as topics related to German culture chosen by students. In addition, pronunciation is practiced as well as key communication skills such as expressing an opinion, ensuring understanding, and reacting in a conversation.

German 3 or similar knowledge and skills.

Final grade 1-5 based on learning assignments.

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)
The student's individual expressions are mostly understandable, but the overall message is not properly conveyed. A lot of support is needed from the other person in the conversation.
Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)
The student's message is mostly well communicated. He/she takes some initiative in the discussion, but may sometimes need the support of a discussion partner.
Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)
The student's message is conveyed in an excellent manner. The speech is clear and varied. Interaction is effortless and the student is able to participate in the discussion.
