Online 100% - This course is for LUT University students (not LAB students) and suitable for those students who are combining work and studies. (Exception can be granted for LAB exchange students only).

The lessons are neither streamed nor recorded, so regular attendance is essential and absence must be compensated. This implementation is suitable for students who wish to practice spoken English and interaction skills in an encouraging environment offline.

Implementation and methods of teaching
This is an online course taught through Moodle. There are a few zoom sessions and online group work on given dates, but most of the work is completed by students independently online. Any variations in the schedule or attendance must be negotiated in advance.
This course is suitable for those students who are combining work and studies.

There are four assignments that will be evaluated by the teacher with the grade 5 -0 (CV and video application; formal email; report, executive summary and sales pitch) the other assignments are evaluated on pass/ fail scale. In addition to this, there are lessons and meetings to attend. Active participation in all these activities impacts your grade for the course.

During the course a student is expected to actively participate in lessons and meetings. The absence cannot be covered by any other assignment and will impact the final grade.

The teacher will have an autumn break from Monday 24.10 - Sunday 6.11. Assignments and coursework will be arranged around these dates but there may be a small delay in students receiving feedback and grades for assignments due during this time.

All compulsory assignments must be completed by the given deadlines. The final course grade will be an average of the assignment grades.
Students will complete 3 quizzes and 4 assignments in total - some assignments will be smaller assignments while others will require more time for completion.
The course has been structured into 4 modules with the following quizzes/assignments -
- Module 1: Formal writing quiz + Business plan assignment (including a promotional poster for the business)
