Implementation and methods of teaching

Teaching takes place at the Skinnarila campus in the fine arts facilities mainly from 9-16 from Tuesday to Thursday. Students are expected to be present also on Fridays by independent studying. Some assignments may also be completed on your own outside these times. Teaching includes exercises, lectures and feedback discussions.

Timing and attendance

Remote learning is not possible.
Attendance 80%.

Student time use and work load

5 credits, 27 hours/unit. The painting classroom is reserved for work Tue-Fri 9-16.

Painting: Perspectives

The course is about studying the illusion of three-dimensionality in two-dimensional painting. Various solutions for representing the illusion of space are explored through the review of lecture material and example works.

The course involves one or more paintings and assignments from different perspectives. The works will be based on students’ own ideas, and on observation also.
