Assessment criteria
The course is graded with a numerical scale based to the results of exam(s), project work and laboratory assignments.
Assessment scale
1-5
Failed (0)
The student has not passed the required amount of tasks for the course within the timetable of the course.
Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)
The student knows the basic principles of materials selection in mechanical engineering. The student can do a basic material selection for a product but the selection is not a systematic procedure. The reports student return have few errors.
Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)
The student knows the importance of systematic material selection procedure when selecting materials for products. Student can apply the knowledge in general level. Student is active during lectures and laboratory assignments. The reports student return are good and match the tasks.
Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)
Student is active and focused to widely apply the procedure of systematic material selection in engineering. The material selection process is systematic and thorough. Student is willing to share his/hers knowledge to fellow students during lectures and laboratory assignments. The reports student return are very good, on point and answer the questions presented in detail.
