After completing the course, the student:
- understands the overall structure of the National Certificate of Language Proficiency (YKI) test and the general task types of its different sections.
- has become familiar with the vocabulary and structures typically required in the intermediate-level YKI test and has practiced using them in different task types.

The course requires active participation in contact and online learning.

Heikkinen et. al.: YKIä kohti (Finn Lectura 2024), other written material provided by the teacher and online materials on the Moodle learning platform.

Learning environment

Weekly online sessions with the teacher. Additionally, contact teaching on campus 1 - 2 times during the course.

Contents

Familiarizing with the sections and task types of the YKI test.

Practicing YKI tasks.

Reviewing and strengthening Finnish vocabulary and structures at the B1 level across all language skill areas (CEFR).

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

The knowledge of course Hoitotyön suomi 1 (A2), language level A2+.

Continous assessment, homework.

Student actively participates in contact teaching and pass all course assignments.
