Toteutustapa ja opetusmenetelmät

The study course will be implemented online as follows:
1. Online teaching: course kick-off meeting, Tue August 26, 14:00–15:30
2. Assignment 1 (25.8.–14.9.): Familiarization with the information retrieval guides prepared by the information management experts of LUT Library Services and taking the related competency test.
3. Voluntary online guidance meeting, Mon September 15, 14:00–16:00
4. Assignment 2 (15.9.–5.10.): Familiarization with the methodological material and reflection on one's own learning
5. Online teaching, Tue October 7, 12:00–15:00
6. Submit the group assignment by October 19
7. Complete the online exam by October 19

The failed competency test and written assignment of the course can be retaken twice within a year from the end of the course, and the grade can be improved once within a year from the end of the course, in accordance with the LAB's degree regulations.

The ethical principles of research and development, information acquisition, scientific knowledge, approaches to research and development, the thesis process and practices in LABs faculty of Health Care and Social Services.

The student’s score in the online exam is:
- 50-59 % correct = grade 1
- 60-69 % correct = grade 2

The student is able to:
- gain information and assess the reliability and usability of the information
- evaluate scientific and ethical practices in research, development, and innovation work
- choose and apply a relevant approach in research, development, and innovation work, and justify the choice with methodological literature

The student’s score in the online exam is:
- 70-79 % correct = grade 3
- 80-89 % correct = grade 4

Arviointikriteerit: taso 5 (arviointiasteikko 1-5)

The student is able to:
- gain information and evaluate critically the reliability and usability of the information.
- apply and evaluate critically scientific and ethical practices in research, development, and innovation work with references
- choose and apply a relevant methodological approach in research, development, and innovation work and justify it professionally and comprehensively with relevant methodological literature.

The student’s score in online exam is:
- 90-100 % correct = grade 5
