Implementation and methods of teaching

Digital tools and platforms in CE is an online course. Through this course students will learn the capabilities of different digital technologies, mainly Industry 4.0 technologies, such as IoT, AI and blockchain and their applications in enabling CE in different industries. In addition, the students will learn different circular business models based on these technologies throughout different case examples and online business model workshops. For business model workshops, we will use Miro board for brain storming and more interactive course.
Each session includes group assignments and individual assignments are mainly focused for reviewing the lectures.
In this course, we will have real company challenges, where 2-3 companies will present a challenge in their CE problem and students have to offer a digital solution to the company which is considered as the final assignment and to pass the course.
The final project work and presentation counts as 50% of the final grade and the rest is related to assignments 40% and with 10% for the active involvement in the course.
More detailed and description of the teaching material will be provided in the introduction of the first session.

Timing and attendance

The course is held during the Spring semester 8.02-18.04.2024 and the detail schedule of the course will be provided in Moodle.

Learning material and recommended literature

The learning material of this course will be based on scientific books, articles and case company resources and examples. The course material will be uploaded in moodle after each session including additional reading and learning materials according to student's interests.
Students can familiarize themselves with Miro board in advance, although it's not a must!

Alternative completion methods

Can be discussed with the instructor. For example if the student have their own company project, it could be considered as well if relevant to the topic of the course.
In any case, inform the teacher ASAP.

Student time use and work load

The average work load for this course is estimated to be 135 hours (5 ECTS). The main part of the study module´s work load consists of independent and group work, about 115 hours (including individual assignments and final group work). The time allocation for contact learning is about 20 hours.
