Implementation and methods of teaching

The course is taught face-to-face and consists of group work, presentations and discussions.

Timing and attendance

The course will run from 11.12.2024 to late spring 2025. There will be four face-to-face meetings. 50% attendance is required for successful completion.

It is not possible to retake the course (there is no exam).

Student time use and work load

The 54 working hours of the 2 credit course are divided as follows: face-to-face meetings about 8 hours, independent and group work about 46 hours.

Contents

The course covers how to identify and make visible your own skills, both verbally and visually, and how to examine them from a working life perspective.

Assessment criteria

Assessment based on coursework, presentations, activity, work process and attendance. In addition, self- and peer-assessment for group work.

Students will receive a failing grade if they do not meet the attendance requirement, have not completed all course assignments within the prescribed time or have not met the learning objectives of the course.

- perceive their own level of competence and skills in relation to the needs of the world of work.
- be able to produce a comprehensive portfolio of their own competences.
- can work both independently and as part of a team.

Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)

Student
- is able to document his/her working method and process in an appropriate way, both visually and in writing.
- perceive their own level of competence and skills in relation to the needs of the world of work and identify essential areas for development.
- can produce a portfolio that makes his/her competences fully visible and professionally credible.
- demonstrate active participation in discussions and work both independently and as part of a team.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

Student
- is able to document his/her working method and process in an appropriate way, both visually and in writing.
- perceive his/her own level of competence and skills in relation to the needs of working life and can purposefully plan ways to develop his/her skills.
- can produce a portfolio that makes his/her competences fully visible and professionally credible.
- demonstrate active and constructive participation in discussions, and work fluently both independently and as part of a team. The student's attendance rate is at least 75%.
