A student is able to

The student is able to
- utilize design process in creation of new service idea and in the development of a service concept
- model, test and present service ideas by prototyping

Implementation and methods of teaching
The course follows a professional service design process, which allows student teams to solve the real client's problem in a user-oriented way.
Working in field in real life with stakeholders like employees and users, doing projects in collaboration with organizations, independent operation, working in a multidisciplinary team by utilizing digital tools, book discussions and familiarizing yourself with literature and utilizing the learning contract.
Participation in the course requires that the basics of service design/project development and other basic studies have been completed.
NOTE: During the implementation, LAB's working life cooperation is carried out, which requires the student to conclude a confidentiality and IPR transfer agreement.
Timing and attendance
Completing the course requires commitment to a common schedule and teamwork.
The course has a pre-assignment: Before the start of the course, the student reads either the book Miettinen Satu: Palvelumuotoilu -Uusia menetelmiä käyttäjätiedon hankintaan ja hyödyntämiseen tai Tuulaniemi Juha: Palvelumuotoilu.
There is a compulsory attendance 80% of teaching and guidance sessions.
