Implementation and methods of teaching
Objectives:
During the clinical practice period the student:
- Deepens the previously acquired knowledge in some special area within health care or acquires new knowledge in some special area within health care
- Is able to apply the previously acquired theoretical knowledge in clinical placement setting
- Is able to work as a part of multiprofessional team
The placement includes:
9 ects of clinical practice in a health care unit chosen by the student
The clinical placement is to be agreed by clinical practice coordinator
1 ects of assignments and Nurse's core competences - exam
Timing and attendance
To be planned separately with clinical practice coordinator

Passing the clinical practice and assignments
Passing the nurse's core competence exam

Approved/Failed
Assessment criteria: assessment scale failed/approved
Criteria for approved clinical practice:
The objectives for clinical practice have been reached (evaluated by student, teacher and clinical supervisor)
The evaluation is documented in evaluation form
The given assignments have been done according to guidelines and returned by deadline
The replacements of possible absences from clinical practice have been done
The student takes responsibility in progression of the clinical practice (objectives during the first week and making sure that evaluation discussions are held)
Criteria for not approved clinical practice:
The student does not reach the general and own learning objectives of the pracice period
Unethical behaviour towards a patient or workplace and colleagues
Actions that endanger patient safety
Lack of workplace skills
The student is not capable of taking resposibility of own studies and learning
