- implement the thesis on the basis of an approved thesis plan.
Implementation and methods of teaching
The thesis will be taken forward through seminar work and individual guidance.
There will be 1 seminar days and the student will arrange the individual supervision with his/her supervisor as needed.
JANUARY Drafting discussion with Thesis supervisor
10 min/presentation/student 10 min feedback discussion
The drafting seminar will examine the whole process and how to present it. Feedback will be given on the whole process development cycle, so the student will have to present drafts, material experiments in abundance. The student is expected to reflect on and evaluate their own work and process. The seminar should demonstrate a research approach appropriate to the topic and the decisions and policies that have been taken and how they have been justified.
In addition, the seminar will provide feedback on the written part, the guidance on documentation should be fully in place.
Some issues from the planning seminar will be revisited in this seminar if they were not in order then. The student will appear in the drafting seminar as an expert.
FEBRUARY - 2025 DESIGN PROCESS AND WRITING
Individual guidance at times provided by your supervisor - reserve times yourself.
Plus separate writing workshops provided by language center in February and March (enrollment in Moodle)
MARCH: preparation seminar or discussion with supervisor (optional)
The work is almost done! The seminar presentation is also the publication of the "dress rehearsal"
The Preparatory Seminar/discussion will prepare you to present your work at the Graduate Seminar and to complete your work on time. Students present their work as experts on their topic. Folding the presentation prepares the student for the folding of the written part, which is part of the expression in art work. The seminar will cover
The objective and the design task
The solution model and methods used for the design task
Product design, prototypes and experiments -> as far as they are ready
Causal relationships in the process and decision making -> explain why you have arrived at a particular outcome and how the background/design process has supported it
How the work will proceed and a timetable for completion
Time for presentation 20 min / student + commentary 20 min
Timing and attendance
Attendance at the seminar is optional since it is practice for graduation seminar but discussion with supervisor is compulsory for every student.
