Objective

After the course, the student
- knows the countries the belong to the Francofonia or the French-speaking world and
has familiarized with some of them
- can tell about the tourism, the economics and the culture of different French speaking
countries
- knows the forms and the use of the subjunctive mood
- can tell about the past events by using the imperfect and the perfect tenses.

Learning outcomes

After the course, the student
- knows the countries the belong to the Francofonia or the French-speaking world and

- can tell about the tourism, the economics and the culture of different French speaking
countries
- knows the forms and the use of the subjunctive mood
- can tell about the past events by using the imperfect and the perfect tenses.

Implementation and methods of teaching

The web course with texts and exercises related to them on Moodle.
The objective of the course is to get to know the Francophonia or the French-speaking world, especially some French-speaking countries through texts about different subjects (e.g. tourism, economy, culture) and with exercises related.

Timing and attendance

Period 5 (Summer course). 1.5.-31.7.2024. No contact lessons, no common Zoom-meetings.

Learning material and recommended literature

Basic French Grammar.
Material and exercises in Moodle.

Exam retakes

No exam, the course is evaluated by the basis of returned exercises.

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

The knowledge of the basics of French language (in LAB/LUT at least courses French 1,2,3 and French for Work 1) or equivalent knowledge.

The level of the course is the CEFR level B1.

Assessment criteria

The course is evaluated by the basis of returned exercises.

Assessment scale

1-5

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)

The knowledge ans the skills of the student are on mediocre level in relation to the learning expectations.
The student can communicate on mediocre level in written and spoken way in simple communication situations.
The student can partly apply learned things to new communication situations.

Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)

The knowledge ans the skills of the student are on mediocre level in relation to the learning expectations.
The student can communicate on mediocre level in written and spoken way in simple communication situations.
