Learning outcomes
The students will
- understand slow and clear speech related to course topics
- are able to communicate orally and in writing in simple everyday situations, such as telling about the family, free time and health
- are able to use the most frequent basic structures.

Implementation and methods of teaching
Classes on Zoom, independent study and learning assignments.
Oral exercises in pairs and teams, exercises on pronunciation, texts, listening, vocabulary and grammar.

Contents
In the course, the students will learn to tell about the family, everyday life and work, to talk about freetime, to make appointments, to communicate in restaurant situations and to tell about health issues at doctor's.
The students will learn to use the following grammatical structures: possessive pronouns, modal verbs, - ordinal numbers, verbs with a prefix, haben and sein in simple past, prepositions with the dative case and the imperative.

Assessment criteria
The evaluation consists of three parts:
- written exam: 0 to 5
- oral exam or grade based on continous assessment*: pass / fail (*precondition for continous assessment: active participation in 75 percent of the classes)
- approved assignments
The final grade for the course will be 0 to 5.
