Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- appraise the normal changes and effects aging has on functional capability and make a comprehensive geriatric assessment
- plan, implement and evaluate the care of the elderly, utilizing evidence-based knowledge
- implement symptomatic and humane care to patients suffering long-term illness or terminally-ill patients and support their significant others
- appraise and promote safe living at home for the elderly, applying future wellbeing technology solutions
- define the most common geriatric diseases and their care guidelines (1 ETCS)
