Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- master the basic structures of the language well enough to be able to manage further language studies
- understand everyday English
- discuss and write about familiar topics
Implementation and methods of teaching
This is an English preparatory course that reviews basic English grammar, basic writing skills, and basic speaking and reading skills. The course is only for IBU, BIT and nursing students studying in English. The course is offered 100% in English. The course is mostly online and self-study with some contact lessons to discuss coursework.
Timing and attendance
The course page on the Reppu platform opens in week 4. The first contact lesson is in week 4. See the course schedule on lukkarit.lamk.fi by using the course ID.
Learning material and recommended literature
All course materials will be available online either on the Reppu platform or as free ebooks and other online materials.
Exam retakes
A computer-based exam in class.
