As the course is based on distance learning there are lectures, which are also recorded for further reference

Learning material and recommended literature

Course material is largely based on the Sawmilling Handbook (edit Ritva Varis) and corresponding eBook. Moreover there is additional lecture material and recommended reading, compiled by the lecturer. All additional material will be given after lectures.

Exam retakes

There will be an exam at the end of the course. Students will have a week's window to choose to do the exam, for which there are two hours from the start of the exam.

It is advantageous if the student has some previous studies in forestry and/or wood technology and/or logistics

Assesment is based solely on the test at the end of the course.

Student can explain the current and possible future trade flows, new products and market possibilities, as well as market characteristics and how they are linked to supply possibilities
