Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- describe the stages of a variety of evidence-based clinical care pathways and processes for the most common medical-surgical patients
- describe the rights of the chronically ill patients and disabled clients and their inclusion in their care decisions
- explain the principles of patient safety including the factors potentially leading to adverse events. The student acknowledges reporting as a statutory obligation and is familiar with the reporting methods
- describe the most common diseases requiring medical and/or surgical care, their symptoms and key medical treatment modalities (2 credits)

- Evaluation scale: T1-K5.
- You can raise a succesfully performed grades only by performing the whole course again within one year (study regulations-tutkintosääntö).
- Grades will be added in Peppi within 30 days.
- Failed exam can be renewed two times within one year in general exam
