Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- produce graphic symbols according to the desired design
- verbalise the role of visual identity as part of marketing communications
- conceptualise the intended visual identity
- describe and apply the design management approach
Implementation and methods of teaching
Lectures, tasks, presentations and discussions. Feedback will be given on the last day.
Timing and attendance
The schedule is in the course's Reppu environment. Obligatory presence on the first day, lectures and presentations. There is no need for additional tasks when absent but tasks have to do within given time.

Alternative completion methods
Presented evidence of experience and learned skills e.g. in work life.
Working life cooperation
If possible the main task is a co-operation project.

In Mukkulankatu campus and Reppu learning environment.
Student time use and work load
Tasks 65 %, lectures 10 %, literature ja learning tasks 10 %, presentations and discussions 15 %.
Contents
During the course we will find out the elements of visual identity and how to build identity target orientated. The main task is to design a visual identity using the learnt methods and processes.
Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.
Basic studies of art and typography. Basic skills of using vector graphics ja layout software, e.g. Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
Assessment criteria
Tasks 80 %, presentations and discussions 20 %.
