Implementation and methods of teaching

Piirustus ja Havainto is a direct continuation of the composition course. In this course, we will explore some of the basics of observational drawing, such as, light and shadow, value studies, and the basics of line drawing. The course will then explore areas such as collage and “mark-making” (making marks with non-traditional tools) as ways of developing a richer visual vocabulary and at the same time expanding the possibilities of personal expression.
Throughout the course, there will be regular critiques of the various assignments. The critiques will help to give each student feed-back on how well their artworks are communicating their intention. The critiques will also help develop skills in how to present and talk about your artwork.
