Lecture materials and other supporting materials will be provided through Moodle. The teacher brings part of the sample packaging and printing materials to the classroom.
The design process will follow iteration rounds and will be done as group work. The student will gain an understanding of the design process through hands-on work. Teaching is based on lectures, classroom teaching and group guidance. Students will complete work independently in addition to classroom work. There will be an exam about the lecture part of the course. Final evaluation: 20% exam 40% activity in contact days and process 40% outcome including the presentations.

This course is part of a Packaging module. Other parts of this module are:
MI00BM07-3005 Packaging Design Model Making and Modeling Materials Workshop (for Pamu students only), and
MI00BQ69-3004 Basics of typography for branding and packaging design.
The students will use Adobe design softwares to complete the works. Basic know-how of these softwares is advisable. Please note that this course is not about software teaching as such, but a project course. Students will carry out part of a bigger entity of the whole module. Groups/pairs will be divided so that students can support each other with different skills.
Don't take just one single course of the module but all to benefit the best way of the module.

Students learn to design packaging graphics. Basic skills in preparing work for printing are acquired. Students understand the communication aspects of packaging graphics and different printing techniques. The main project will be done in small groups. Social, and multidisciplinary skills are strengthened. The project is designed through iteration rounds. The group is able to argue and present their choices from concept to finish.
