Domestic Violence in Health Care and Social Services, 5 ECTS
For whom?
This optional study unit will be offered online for the degree programme and exchange students of social and health care as well as for the open university students.

Learning outcomes:
After the completion of the study unit the student
• explains the definitions, models and signs of domestic violence
• recognizes professional ethics on domestic violence work
• applies relevant approach and methods with domestic violence patients/ service users
Content
• definitions and models of domestic violence
• spotting signs of domestic violence in patients/clients
• ethical considerations on domestic violence work
• ways of working with victims and aggressors in domestic work
The study unit will be implemented in moodle and Teams learning environments, where the student
• familiarizes oneself with the course material
• applies one's knowledge to the given assignments and upploads them to the moodle page
• participates the scheduled contact sessions in Teams
• gets teacher evaluation and gives students evaluation to the moodle.
Timing and attendance
The study unit will be implemented from September 16 to October 23 in 2020.
Participation in the scheduled contact sessions in Teams as the following:
Wed 16.9.20 at 8.30-10.00
Fri 25.9.20 at 8.30-10.00
Fri 2.10.20 at 8.30-10.00
Fri 9.10.20 at 8.30-10.00
Fri 16.10.20 at 8.30-10.00.
The Teams session address will be published and sent to the enrolled students September 11.
