The student is able to
- explain key treatment modalities and nursing interventions of a medical-surgical patient
- describe national nutrition recommendations and medical-surgical patients’ special diets and their role in the overall care of a patient
- describe the importance of a multi-professional team and the significant others in the care of chronically ill patients/clients
- utilize evidence-based knowledge in promoting chronically ill patients’ health and functional capacity
- describe future nursing and self-care methods of chronically ill patients as part of patient guidance
