Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- analyze their own role in the actions and development of their work community
- describe the ways in which their supervisors manage and develop their work community and its practices
- describe the development of the quality of social and health care services
- analyze entrepreneurship and its characteristics in social and health care services

Implementation and methods of teaching

- on line learning: video lectures, articles, other materials
- two (2) separate online exams (part 1. Leadership and part 2. Entrepreneurship), which both have to be done; see also assessment criteria below

- Note! this is online course and there are no marks of classroom reservations on Time edit. The course is scheduled by each individual student.

Alternative completion methods

RPL -process: a student is allowed to apply recognition of a prior learning (work experience, prior studies) for a part (2,5 cr) of the course or for the whole course (5 cr). In RPL -application learning competences of the course have to be indicated separately or entirely. The application could be accepted or rejected partly or entirely by a responsible teacher.

In practice, the competence must always prove by online exam (näyttö).This means that a student enroll her/his self on the online course on Peppi and do either Leadership - part (2,5 cr) or Entrepreneurship -part (2,5 cr) online exam or both online exams (5 cr) on Moodle.

Working life cooperation

- connected to Clinical Training: Leadership and Entrepreneurship -course 5 credits (only for LAB Lahti campus students), more information about Clinical Training: Leadership and Entrepreneurship -course available from a person, who is responsible of your practical training

Exam retakes

- two (2) separate online exams (part 1. Leadership and part 2. Entrepreneurship), which both have to be done; see also assessment criteria
- failed online exam is able to repeat twice during one year (only for LAMK students)
- if only another part of the course (online exam) is failed, it is possible to complete only this failed part

Assessment criteria

- grading 1-5
- a total grade of the course is an average of 2 online exam points (part 1. Leadership and part 2. Entrepreneurship)

Assessment scale

1-5

Assessment criteria: level 1 (assessment scale 1–5)

- a student reaches 50-59 % of a competence level -> grade 1
- a student reaches 60-69 % of a competence level -> garede 2

Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)

- a student reaches 70-79 % of a competence level -> grade 3
- a student reaches 80-89 % of a competence level -> grade 4

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

- a student reaches 90-100 % of a competence level -> grade 5
