The student is able to

Implementation and methods of teaching

The course facilitates planning and evaluating business ideas and gives basic concepts of entrepreneurship, business planning and business ideas. In-class and distance learning. STORM Idea Contest. Discussions, written assignments and a group presentation.

Timing and attendance

Attendance at the first lecture is compulsory.
Attendance at the lectures by visiting lecturers are compulsory.
Attendance at the STORM finals and the final seminar of the course are compulsory.

Learning material and recommended literature

Reppu (Moodle), the Internet and other material as agreed.

Alternative completion methods

-Running your own business.
-Working in a student cooperative.
A diary and a reflection needed.
Assessment: pass/fail.

Assessment criteria

Individual assignment: pass/fail. Group assignment (incl. the final seminar) 100%. All assignments must be completed successfully. Missing deadlines will be taken into account in the assessment.

Student is able to study a business environment and how to formulate business ideas.

Assessment criteria: level 3 (assessment scale 1–5)

Student is acquainted with entrepreneurship as an option to salaried work and as a life strategy.
Student is able to study a business environment and how to formulate business ideas.
Student is able to construct a concise and logical business plan (or other group work related to entrepreneurship).
Student is able to determine and analyze the financing and profitability required for the chosen business idea.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

Student is acquainted with entrepreneurship as an option to salaried work and as a life strategy.
Student is able to study a business environment and how to formulate business ideas.
Student is able to construct a concise and logical business plan (or other group work related to entrepreneurship).
Student is able to determine and analyze the financing and profitability required for the chosen business idea.
Student understands his/her personal capabilities for running a business, but also the general conditions and obstacles facing entrepreneurs. He/she is able to present and describe the idea in a professional manner.
