Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- divide project objectives into tasks, schedule project work and follow the progress of a project
- plan and implement a solution to a problem as a member of a project team according to the waterfall model
- recognise risks in data security and data protection, and explain their significance
- describe data security methods

Implementation and methods of teaching

A project executed with the waterfall model. The artifact produced during the project is a security guide for an organization.
Workshop sessions, including team work practice.
Lectures.

Timing and attendance

Attendance is mandatory for the lectures and workshop sessions, the team will organize their work when producing the artifact, but it is highly recommended to utilize the classroom reservation also for face to face team meetings. First session to be held on 16.1.2020, final session 23.4.2020.

Materials will be provided in Reppu.

Computer classrooms, Reppu, Internet.

Contents

Project work basics: working as a productive team members in a project utilizing the waterfall methodology.
Tool skills: capability to utilize team work tools (both methodologies and technical tools) for communication and delivery.
Content skills: Insight to the security issues related to data security and methods to improve it.

Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.

The course User Interface Design and Web Technologies should be studied simultaneously with this course.

Assessment criteria

Teachers evaluate the team's work and artifacts resulting from the project work (project plan and product). Peer evaluation. Self evaluation.
