Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- acquire new understanding of key issues of doing business in Russia
- develop skills in efficient communication, team building, decision making and negotiating with Russians
- appreciate Russian cultural, political and historical situation and its significance for cross-cultural management, both in past and present times.

Implementation and methods of teaching

Lectures, homework, group works, an educational trip to Saint Petersburg, a learning diary.

The student is able to
• understand how cross-cultural communication works
• understand the historical and political background of the Russian economy
• understand Russian culture and values
• understand the special features of Russian business culture and consumer behavior
• assess the risks and possibilities of starting a business in Russia

The student is able to recognize the special features of Russian business culture and knows some basic facts about the current economic and political situation.

The student's knowledge and skills are at a good level in relation to the course learning outcomes.
The student is able to understand the special features of Russian business culture and is familiar with the current economic and political situation.

Assessment criteria: level 5 (assessment scale 1–5)

The student's knowledge and skills are excellent, with respect to the course learning outcomes.
The student fully understand the special features of Russian business culture and has deep knowledge of the current economic and political situation.
