Implementation and methods of teaching
Course is mostly accessible remotely. Content consists of conversational classes, online video and text tutorials, and online spoken and written assignments. All assignments are compulsory. In-person attendance at conversational classes is encouraged, but remote participation can be arranged. Ultimate deadline for work to be assessed is week 21. Other deadlines are flexible, though you miss them at your peril.
Timing and attendance
Course runs from week 3 to week 21. Attendance at conversation classes on weeks 3, 7, 12, 16 and 20 is compulsory. Otherwise content is fully online and asynchronous, no attendance required.

Student time use and work load
The course should be about 108 hours of work. Student's workload consists of attending class and completing written and oral assignments. Work is evenly paced throughout the course.

This course does not review English grammar. It is expected that the students enrolled in the course have an intermediate-level command of English (CEFR B2).
Assessment criteria
A number of assignments are graded on a scale of 0-5. Other assignments are pass/fail. Students must attain a passing grade (1 or pass) on all assignments to pass the course.
