Learning outcomes

The student is able to
- present their work to peer audiences and evaluate them critically
- make use of various visual idea generation methods
- use personal observations and emotions as a starting point for creative thinking
- make connections between visual arts and other forms of visual culture
- analyse, interpret and explain contemporary visual culture.

Implementation and methods of teaching

All lectures take place online. We use the Zoom service.
The lectures contain a theory part as well as class assignments to be done independently and in groups. During the course, students are also assigned homeworks.
An essential part of studying is participation in going through the tasks and discussing them.

Timing and attendance

The lectures take place between 17 February and 15 May 2023.
Attendance is 80%.

Learning environment

All lectures take place online. We use the Zoom service.

Contents

The online lectures include theory sections, audiovisual material and class assignments to be completed in groups and individually.
The course introduces the field of visual design, its history, techniques and environments. At the same time, the skills of the course "Color, Form and Composition" are put into practice.
Active participation in the discussion is essential to the nature of the course.
