Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- prepare and deliver business presentations in English
- become aware of different techniques used in presentations
- understand the role cultural aspects play in presentations
Implementation and methods of teaching
Online course. Students independently study the how to create and deliver presentations online. Students will also participate in three online meetings during the course. The focus is on preparing and giving speeches and professional presentations in English. To practice speaking, students prepare three speeches or presentations, which they record. The recorded presentations are assessed.
Timing and attendance
The course runs from September 6 through December 3.
Attendance at online sessions is compulsory.
All assignments need to be submitted before their designated deadlines.

All course materials are provided via Moodle.

Online meetings are held via Zoom.
Student time use and work load
5 ECTS credits = 135 hours of student work in total. This includes attendance at Zoom sessions, preparation and recording of individual presentations, and independent study of presentation mechanics and preparation.
Contents
This course provides students with basic presentation and public speaking skills in English. The objective is to learn how to prepare and deliver business presentations and other talks in English.
Additional information for students: previous knowledge etc.
Prerequisites: Completion of English for Work -course.
Intermediate to upper-intermediate level skills in spoken English (e.g. CEFR B1/B2, IELTS 6-6.5).
No previous presenting skills required.

Grades are based on performance during assessed presentations.
