Learning outcomes
The student is able to
- describe the different types of tools used in creating 3D animation
- describe the basic methods for optimising 3D models and rigging for animating and rendering
- discuss the role of materials and lighting in 3D
- produce a basic model and rig for character animation
Implementation and methods of teaching
The course can only be completed by attending the lectures and by completing the assignments given during the contact hours.
Timing and attendance
There is a requirement for a 80% attendance on the lectures unless agreed otherwise with the teacher.

Contents
The course will be implemented by lectures, which will contain theoretical explanations on different aspects of producing a 3D-animation project and practical exercises of the different tools used in 3D production. Exercises will be completed on Cinema 4d. Students must attend the lectures in order to complete practical exercises with supervised guidance.
After the course the students will have a clear vision of the 3D-animation workflow and they are familiar with the commonly used tools and techniques of the 3D-animation production.

Primary for Media Content Design -students.
The previous experience on any 3D software is not required. Basic knowledge of the Adobe Photoshop CC is required.
Assessment criteria
In order to pass the student must complete exercises and assignments, which will be assigned during the lectures. 80% attendance on lectures is required.
There will be a small test at the end of the course, which will provide teacher an indication of students development. 50% grade is required for a pass.
