The degree programme in Design, major in Interior Architecture, educates designers of public and private spaces who have the ability to understand functional and aesthetic wholes. Understanding experience and function constitutes an important area of expertise in interior design.

Success in interior architecture requires a creative, innovative and aesthetic approach, and good interaction skills.

The studies emphasise the management of design processes and the ability to work as a specialist on design teams. The real-life corporate partnership projects included in the programme provide students with good practical abilities for work as an interior architect.

Graduates typically work in architectural or interior architecture agencies or design agencies, or become self-employed or consultants. The professional title of "interior architect SIO" in Finland is reserved for graduates accepted as members of the Finnish Association of Interior Architects.
